Letterdrop already knows which accounts are talking to your competitors. Connect it to Claude and you can ask for those accounts in plain English, get a brief before every touch, and have Claude load the right people into your sequences every morning.
What you'll be able to do after 10 minutes of setup:
- Ask "who should I reach out to today?" and get a ranked list
- Get a one-page brief on any account before you call or email
- Have Claude write persona-based sequences and add each day's new leads to Smartlead, Apollo or HubSpot
- Run LinkedIn connect β DM β InMail workflows from Letterdrop, with approval before anything sends
Step 1: Connect Letterdrop to Claude (5 min)
Full walkthrough with screenshots: π€ Connect Letterdrop to Claude (via MCP)
To use it: open a new chat β click + β Connectors β toggle Letterdrop on.
Test it: ask "Show me contacts that might be evaluating [your competitor] using Letterdrop." You should see your own workspace's accounts come back.
Step 2: Add the Letterdrop plugin (2 min)
Install here: Letterdrop Plugin
The connector gives Claude access to your data. The plugin teaches Claude how to read it correctly and how to turn it into outbound. It adds four shortcuts and two built-in skills:
Shortcut | What it does |
/in-market-accounts | Accounts showing competitor buying signals right now, ranked for outreach |
/account-brief [company] | Signals, buying committee, outreach history, CRM status and a "contact now?" recommendation |
/buyer-filters | Shows who counts as a valid lead (titles, company filters). Only changes it when you confirm |
/signal-outreach | Sets up and runs your daily email outreach from the Sell Now list |
You don't have to use the shortcuts. Plain English works just as well.
Step 3: Get your first list (5 min)
Start with one of these:
Which accounts are evaluating competitors right now that aren't customers or open opportunities?
/in-market-accounts high priority, signals this month
Find contacts in the US at companies with 500 to 5,000 employees that are not open opportunities or customers and may be evaluating competitors
Give me a CSV of high-priority accounts with no outreach since the signal
How to read the answer:
- Engaged contacts are the people the signal came from. Contact these first.
- Buying committee members are decision-makers at the same account. They didn't produce a signal themselves, so never imply they did anything.
- Stale accounts can still show "high" priority. If the signal is old, ask Claude to rank fresher signals first.
- Historical records are past relationships, not current activity. Don't treat them as a live deal.
Step 4: Brief the account before you reach out
/account-brief acme.com
Who's on the buying committee at Acme, and have we contacted any of them?
What did Acme reply to our last outreach, and what does the CRM say about the deal?
Is Acme worth contacting this week? Who should I talk to first?
Use this before every call, first email, or LinkedIn DM to a high-priority account.
Step 5: Turn on daily email outreach
Type:
/signal-outreach
First run is setup, and it's one screen of tap-to-answer questions:
- Which tool sends your emails (Smartlead, Apollo or HubSpot)
- How many new people to add per day (it suggests a number based on your real volume)
- Review before send (recommended) or send automatically
- Which kinds of buyers you want to reach
Claude then:
- Reads your website and builds 4 to 6 buyer personas
- Writes a 5-step sequence per persona (short, plain, mobile-friendly emails)
- Creates the sequences in your sending tool, paused if you chose review mode
- Adds today's best leads and sends you a short digest
Important: the emails never mention the competitor or the signal. The signal decides who to email and when. The email is about their problem.
Say yes when Claude offers to run it every weekday morning. After that you just check the digest and press start on new leads.
Useful follow-ups:
/signal-outreach 40 a day
/signal-outreach change personas
Who should I reach out to today?
Step 6: Add LinkedIn (optional)
With your LinkedIn account connected in Letterdrop, Claude can build and run outreach workflows:
Build a workflow: if I'm connected with the lead, DM them. If not, send a connection request. Wait 3 days, then follow up by DM or InMail.
Research each lead first, then draft a personalized DM I approve before it sends.
Skip anyone already in our CRM and ask me in Slack before reaching out to anyone else.
Add today's top 20 engaged contacts to my LinkedIn workflow.
Show me replies from my LinkedIn conversations this week.
Keep approve before sending on until you trust the messages.
Your weekly rhythm
When | What to ask |
Every morning | Read the /signal-outreach digest, start new leads in review mode |
Monday | /in-market-accounts signals in the last 7 days |
Before any call or first touch | /account-brief [company] |
Friday | "Which accounts replied or booked meetings this week after a signal?" |
Monthly | /buyer-filters, then check the titles still match who you sell to |
Questions that work well
Finding who to contact
- Who should I reach out to today?
- Which accounts showed new competitor activity this week?
- Which high-priority accounts have had zero outreach since the signal?
- List engaged contacts in [region / industry / company size] with no open deal
Understanding an account
- Who at [company] engaged with [competitor], and when?
- Who's on the buying committee at [company]?
- Has anyone on my team already reached out? What did they say?
Pipeline and wins
- Which closed-lost accounts are back in market?
- Which current customers are showing competitor activity? (churn risk)
- Which meetings were created after a competitor signal this quarter?
Tuning
- Show me our buyer filters
- Add VP Finance to decision-maker titles (Claude shows the full change and waits for you to confirm)
Tips
- Be specific. "High priority, US, 200 to 2,000 employees, no outreach" beats "good leads."
- Ask for a CSV or table if you want to load the list somewhere else.
- If the data looks like another company's, reconnect the Letterdrop connector and pick the right workspace.
- If something looks off, ask Claude "why is this account on the list?" It will explain the signal.
