What can be performed on my behalf once I connect my LinkedIn?

Your admin can setup permissions for what they want to be able to do. They can:

  • like posts
  • post to your LinkedIn feed with your permission. You’ll receive a notification via email or Slack
  • comment or repost with your permission. You’ll receive a notification via email or Slack

You can opt in to only a subset of the above too — just ask your admin when connecting.

What data is collected once I download the Chrome extension?

If data collection is enabled, the following will be collected:

  • prospects who like and comment on your posts
  • prospects who follow or connect with you
  • prospects who view your profile
  • impressions on posts

Prospects are defined by job titles that your admin can setup in Settings.

Is this safe?

Liking, commenting, and posting on your behalf happen via official LinkedIn APIs. These actions are sanctioned by LinkedIn.

The Chrome extension to create content and boost posts is also safe.

Data collection from the Chrome extension is done on your behalf in a second minimized Chrome window that is open in the background. It will perform some simple actions like opening up your analytics page, profile page, followers page, connections page once a day. These actions are rate limited to fall within safe daily limits on LinkedIn and are done from your own computer only when it’s active so it’s indistinguishable from your regular activity. However, we understand that every individual has different levels of comfort, so please turn this on or off at your discretion. It has worked safely for thousands of other users.

Letterdrop is also SOC-2 Type II certified so we take your data security seriously. See our Trust Center here.
